1. How many K'NEX parts are there?
Believe it or not, there was a day when all K'NEX parts could be held in two hands. But not anymore! Now, even if you stuff your pockets, your hands will overflow with unique new shapes and parts.
K'NEX has introduced lots of new parts since the original 22 Connectors, Rods and Wheels and Pulleys. For K'NEX fans, this means a whole new look for the hottest construction toy in town. Check it out!
2. What's the biggest K'NEX model ever made?
A really imposing building is the U.S. Capitol, built by K'NEX designers from nearly 514,000 Rods and Connectors. The building is 8 ft. high and 17 1/2 feet long and contains more pieces than any of our other display models built by the U.S. Design Team.
3. How can I be a K'NEX designer when I grow up?
Our designers didn't want us to tell you because they've seen what kids can do. They sure do have some competition! But here's a hint: the more you play with K'NEX, the better you become at building OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD models.
4. How do the designers come up with their ideas?
As you've heard us say, "If you can imagine it, you can build it." And that's really all there is to it. K'NEX designers let their imaginations run wild where the goal is to make the unbelievable a reality. So let's put it this way, there isn't anything they can't build!
5. How do K'NEX designers build the big display models?
Very carefully and WITHOUT glue! All display models have an internal support structure, made entirely of cubes built with blue Rods and Connectors. The support, or K'NEX cubes, prevent the display models from crumbling as they get bigger. The skin, or outer layer of the display, is made up of unique combinations of K'NEX parts. They're what give the cubes the final shape and look needed to create reality with the structure.
