The ten lucky new K'NEXperts were chosen from among hundreds of entrants hailing from the United States and Canada. Wanna-be K'NEXperts were asked to build unique construction models made entirely from K'NEX pieces, and then enter them for consideration as among the best of the best. The final panelists were chosen based on the innovation, imagination and creativity expressed in their builds.

Each of the ten K'NEXperts will be rewarded with a variety of great K'NEXpert perks throughout the year, including his or her own personal web page at www.knex.com, free K'NEX gear, new K'NEX products, and a generous discount on K'NEX parts that are purchased online. In addition, these K'NEXperts will be invited to share their thoughts and feedback regarding existing and new K'NEX products and will be invited to attend local K'NEX-sponsored activities throughout the year.

The K'NEX website currently houses 10 personal web pages that display photos of each of the new K'NEXperts, accompanied by photos of four of his or her imaginative winning constructions. Among the amazing creations include a number of reconstructions of famed architectural landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Empire State Building and the Seattle Space Needle. Also included in each K'NEXpert's group of constructions are a household item and a holiday item, ranging from a life-sized vacuum cleaner to a fireworks display--all made solely from K'NEX construction toy pieces! K'NEX will update these web pages as often as the K'NEXperts wish, with new pictures of their exciting and imaginative builds.

"K'NEX is proud to announce the ten new members of its 2001 K'NEXpert Panel. These kids have shown excellent building ability and a remarkable creativity. These appointments recognize and pay honor to the creativity and imagination of all kids across the globe," said Chris Campbell, Vice President of Marketing for K'NEX. "We look forward to seeing what our K'NEXpert panelists come up with next, and we eagerly await the feedback and kidcentric insight that these K'NEXperts can give us!"
