SESAME WORKSHOP and K'NEX BRANDS INTRODUCE
Of Favorite Sesame Characters
Hatfield, PA, February 2008 - Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street, and K'NEX, an international leader in the construction toy industry and strong advocate of fostering the imagination and creativity of children, are delighted to introduce the first collection of Sesame Street-themed building sets for preschoolers.
"We are thrilled to introduce Sesame Street building sets," said Michael Araten, president of K'NEX Brands. "Partnering with Sesame Workshop provides a wonderful opportunity to work together toward our goals of helping children learn, grow, dream and discover."
Specially designed for children ages two years and older - the youngest audience yet for K'NEX - the new sets are filled with colorful KID K'NEX rods and connectors, as well as all-new KID K'NEX blocks. The blocks, which are compatible with other leading preschool building blocks, provide an easier building experience for young children.
To heighten the play experience and further children's growth and development, each set includes engaging and interactive educational content such as tips for parents and fun activity cards for kids, as well as lots of building ideas.
Brightly colored, character-shaped packaging adds additional play value and keeps parts neatly stored away when not in use.
Pre-school girls everywhere will be tickled pink at the Sesame Street Abby Cadabby 30-piece building set. This cute set is filled with everything needed to create Sesame Street's newest Muppet and fairy-in-training, from a tulle skirt and pink fairy wings to a flowery wand and perky pigtails. The set also includes a bright orange pumpkin - perhaps the product of one of Abby's still-to-be-perfected spells!
Both the Super Grover and Abby Cadabby building sets come packaged in sturdy storage containers and include activity sheets filled with fun parent/child interactive activities.
Pint-sized building buddies can construct their favorite Muppet duo with the Sesame Street Bert & Ernie building set. Forty-six vibrantly colored parts, including blue and red sneakers, molded hair and striped blocks for the pair's colorful sweaters, come together to create impressively accurate characters. .
Both the Elmo's World and Bert & Ernie building sets include three fun, educational activity cards and a sheet of additional building ideas. The sets are packaged in durable storage containers.
Sesame Street KID K'NEX building sets will be available in June 2008.
