Question and Answer: When did you start building with K'NEX?
I started building when I was 5.
How did you come up with the idea for your winning model?
I play the drums at school and I decided to build a drum set. Then I thought to add the whole band.
What has been your most challenging K'NEX creation?
My K'NEXanoid robot from last year, because I had to make an automatic ping-pong ball gun, and I made it so the robot had the ability to walk.
Do you have a favorite past K'NEXpert, if so who?
Tim is a big inspiration.
How many siblings do you have? What are their age(s) and gender?
I have one sister named Lanie who is 9 years old.
Do they build with K'NEX too? Do you build models together?
Yes, she has been a K'NEXpert for 2 years. When we're not building for the K'NEXpert competition, we build together some of the time.
What are your favorite hobbies (besides building with K'NEX)?
Baseball, tennis, building with almost anything, meteorology, video games, and church.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorites would have to be math and science.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a storm chaser and computer programmer.
What has been the coolest part about being a 2011 K'NEXpert?
Getting free K'NEX products.
What advice do you have for other kids who want to be K'NEXperts?
Don't give up when it gets tough. Even though you might not think you can do it, keep trying. Never stop reaching for your goal.
